Pems Well Blog

Good mooooornin sunflowers. It’s another day, another week on this beautiful earth. Life is amazing. It really is.

Let’s get ready to crush it!! As I start this Monday, I want to share my favorite exercise for this morning. Because at PEMS Well, I do focus on physical health. This morning (Monday) it was a sumo squat curl combo. (I will post in my YouTube video at the end of the week).

Yesterday (Tuesday) I woke up with the worst energy. I woke up crying. How is that possible? I woke up!! More gratitude please. That is something to be grateful for. I woke up in a warm bed, with a roof, in the United States (it is a hot mess right now, but there are wayyyy worse countries to be in). I didn’t want to work out but I did, which changed my mood in the moment. I still could not get pass the tears. I went for a walk and still could not shake it. Eventually, I talked to a friend and let it out. I vented. I felt better. Life gets heavy. Know you’re not alone. Make sure you find your tribe. Get your circle. Find your people. A group who talks about plans, growth, goals, not people. A group who uplifts, reads, prays, educates, and inspires. As I’ve gotten older I’ve learned the importance of a trustworthy tribe. When you find yours hold on tight.

Also, be weary of people who pretend to be part of your circle but in reality they are envious and wish you bad vibes. Pay attention to your energy around those people. Everyone does not want what’s best for you.

What do you do when you are emotionally and mentally not in a good place? A few things I suggest when you’re not in the best place emotionally and mentally is to get some exercise, breath, practice breath work, take dance breaks (Song of the week: “Soulmate” by Lizzo).

Workout, even when you don’t want to. Especially when you don’t want to work out. Physical health is the foundation of overall wellness. After a workout you will feel better, stronger. No one ever regrets not working out.

This morning (Wednesday) I woke up on top of the world. I received an early morning text from my step grandmother (really the only grandmother I’ve ever known). It was so encouraging and inspiring. I started crying, but these were happy tears. It’s nice to be seen and she let me know she sees me (not in those words). Speaking of being seen, I received a book (“Lighter” by Yung Pueblo) in the mail today from a friend. It was a complete surprise. I cried and cried and cried. Life has been heavy. Just know when life gets heavy it’s temporary.

Do you let people know you see them?

Something I started working on this week is visualization and change!! Visualizing living in the location I want to live and accomplishing the goals I have. I also started making relationship changes. In all things in life, you can’t continue doing the same things and expect something different. So with relationships, we gotta stop putting up with behaviors we don’t like, behaviors that do not make us feel good. You can’t change anyone but you can change how you react and change their access to you. And when you’re changing access, ask God for clarity and discernment, and thank Him for that relationship.

Don’t forget to treat yourself.

Get outside, drink your water, and mind your business.
