Pems Well Blog

Welcome to the PEMS Well Blog, where I share my PEMS Well journey. Hopefully the stories I share help you on your Physical, Emotional, Mental, and Spiritual (PEMS) journey. My goal is to add a weekly blog as well on my YouTube channel. When I created PEMS Well, this was not my vision. I really didn’t have one. I simply knew my struggles and knew I was not the only one with these struggles. If I can help one person on their physical, emotional, mental, and spiritual journey, my job in life is done. Recently, I had a life situation that made me pause and think I need to stop delaying this and start PEMS Well now. I hope that sharing my stories helps others and lets them know they are not alone. If you feel alone and need to chat, click here and shoot me a message.

July 31, 2024 - Release

Welcome back to the PEMS Well.

If you're new here, my vision at PEMS Well is to help inspire you on your PEMS Well journey while I am on my own journey. PEMS Well stands for physical, emotional, mental, and spiritual wellness.

I like to start with a few inhales and exhales. Breath. Inhale the good, exhale the bad.

What did you do to connect to God today? Pray, meditate, walk, get outside? Lately I’ve been struggling with my connection with God. I thank God daily. I pray daily but sometimes it's hard to talk to God. That’s probably when I should talk to Him the most. Tell him what you need, what you want. Some say he knows what you need and want but me personally I think you need to tell him. Talk to him.

One thing I highly recommend is not talking to anyone in the morning until you get grounded. You never know what kind of energy they have and you don’t want them transferring that energy to you before you are ready.

Lately my focus has been on my peace, being present and releasing (the life I was supposed to have, people), filling my cup, pouring into me, flowing and not forcing anything.

It's already August and the year is more than halfway over. I’ve been thinking about my word for 2024 and wanted to share it with you and remind you to get your word for the year. It’s not too late to have a word for the year. A friend of mine encouraged me to choose a word that describes what I want from this year. After thinking about what affects my life the most, I decided my word is RELEASE.

What’s your word for this year? I choose RELEASE. Releasing control. Releasing energy that is not mine to carry. Releasing all things that no longer serve me. Releasing thoughts that weigh me down. Releasing the life I was “supposed” to have.

The other day, I was having a conversation with my mom and explaining to her I was in a state of grief. I was grieving the life I was supposed to have. Like literally balling, crying, borderline depressed because my current life is not what I envisioned. But is it really the life I wanted or the life the world put on me???

Releasing negative thoughts and emotions. I tend to dwell on things unnecessarily. Do you? I try to let go as soon as possible to avoid any negative effects on my body. Dwelling on negative thoughts brings disharmony to the mind and body, which can lead to illness. One way I release thoughts is my five minute real and writing things down and burning it or tearing it up.

Back to my five minute rule. My five minute rule is giving myself five minutes to be sad, stew, dwell on it and then I have to let it go. Inhale (in with the good), exhale (out with the bad). Dust your shoulders off, both shoulders. The thing is, we will focus on something that happened, focus on something we have no control over, let it impact our mood, our day, our relationships, give it energy, waste energy and time and for what?? You also have to think, I’m going to die one day, is this something I should even concern myself with?? It happened, I learned, it may have cost something (ie money, mistakes happen) but move on! Dwelling on it will not change what happened, it will only lower your vibe.

Also, speaking of illness and disharmony in the body. I am not a doctor in anyway. I don’t have any medical degrees but I do have common sense and pay attention to when something feels off in my body. Your body will tell you when something is off. Listen to it. We live in an information world. We literally have information at our fingertips that we can use to learn about our bodies and how to heal many issues naturally. I recently had a skin break out and some super minor issues so I did a little research and learned it could be related to a hormonal imbalance. I researched how to cure a hormonal imbalance naturally and of course sugar was a culprit (refined sugar is the devil). It made so much sense because I had a cookie the night before and hadn’t had sweets in about 35 days. One thing Ive learned about people is they want a “cure” from a doctor and never want to do the “hard work” like not eating sweets or drinking alcohol. They’d rather get a pill from the doctor instead of putting in the work to heal naturally. Just remember to always do your own research. People post a lot of health opinions on the internet and present them as facts. Do your research and do what’s best for you.

Speaking of body, have you been moving? Although I’m not a scientist or a doctor, one thing I know for sure is exercise and sun lift your spirit. Try and get both, if you can’t get both, at least get one! Dance! Walk! Run! Stretch!

Let me give you one piece of advice, DISCONNECT. Everyday our life is influenced and our nervous system is affected by external factors we have no control of. IT’S OKAY TO DISCONNECT. Disconnect to reconnect to yourself. When you reconnect, be intentional in what you are connecting with, what you consume, what and who you are allowing to enter your space.

Something I’ve focused on more recently is to not take anything personal. People who you thought were your friends will show you where you fit into their lives. Don’t take it personal. Just take note!

So make sure you find your tribe. People will be envious, jealous, and will talk to you just to get info to talk about you. Hey did you hear what's going on with so and so. How about you call so and so and make sure they are in a good space.

One thing I’ve learned on this journey is to SHOW UP FOR YOURSELF everyday, whatever that looks like for you.

Just a reminder to drink your water, mind your business, and choose the YOU that makes you happy.
