This Week on “Confessions of a small business owner”

Week of March 25, 2024

Happy Monday, welcome back to another week of Confessions of a Small Business Owner. This week is starting off with cell phone storage issues. I know you can relate because as a small business owner our phones are our world. We tend to keep everything on our cell phones. So lets make sure we are backing that data up! This past weekend I ran into a storage issue with my phone and I could create a movie i.e., my YouTube videos until I deleted a bunch of stuff. Ultimately its stuff I didn’t need, hadn’t used in a long time buuuuuut, you just never know when you might need that picture from seven years ago.

Make sure you’re backing up your data and securing your phones!!

I’m going to purchase an SD card this week to have more data storage. I will let you know which one I purchase and include the link here.

Why are people scammers and so opportunistic. How do you order a product, receive it, and then dispute the purchase? How eff’d up is your life?

So back to yesterday (the last few sentences). This morning I was reflecting on the situation and how people do things like get a product and say they didn’t receive it or get a product and say there was fraud knowing full damn well they are using if while submitting the claim. You know how you can tell they are full of shit, they never contact the company. They automatically file a claim with the bank/credit union/PayPal etc. Why not contact the company first, nicely, and say you never received your item before automatically filing a dispute???? This was not the first time this happened to me, but I pray it’s the last. I hate dealing with nonsense. One piece of advice for submitting evidence in a dispute is to be as thorough as possible. The burden of proof is on you.

This week has been a blur, I can’t believe its already Friday. How is your week going?

I received some good news this morning regarding one of my businesses. There’s nothing better than happy email!!!

It’s Saturday and I’m slowly wrapping up the week. I had to go to the post office today. This rainy day.

Do you use mailing list? Send marketing email? What is your experience? Today I deleted my MailChimp account because I was paying $45 a month and never really sending marketing email. Maybe one or two times a year. As business slows down you have to figure out where you can make cuts.
